Chaingunner, if you like COD4 that much off-line, I highly recommend that you try it on-line. Honestly, it's almost like a different game. In addition to the added fun inherent in any collaborative game element, there's the added amusement of talking to, through the headset, people from all over the world. Some of them are unbelievably funny.

Workmate of mine plays online on his 360 and says its fine until the 15 year olds join in with their 'Whiny bloody voices' so he hits the mute button sharpish (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Been on dial up which is a no-no for online but changing to broadband this weekend.

I used to be a gamer, but three, four years ago I gave up, for several reasons.

*) I was fed up with the arms-race regarding equipment

*) I am disappointed with most of the games coming out over the last couple of years, newer versions of established titles included. They are usually a bit enhanced graphix wise, and tht´s it, no originality in the gameplay, ideas or artwork.

*) I got quite a range of interest, and had to step up my time.managment

That said, I own several game consoles, like Playstation one and two, sega saturn, gameboy, a few old pcs and lots of games of course, but then I always wanted to have a 3DO as a kid, too expensive back then for my parents (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Everynow and then one surfaces on ebay, and I keep thinking back and forth about givning it a try, .......

I've also got that game and am playing it at the moment. I was a little bummed that it was so different from the original burnout, I thought I was getting a game that allowed me to rack up a bunch of points based on creating a massive accident.

IMO that's the biggest problem with PC gaming. If someone wants a nice frame rate they need to upgrade every other year or so to keep up. And those PC's are expensive. I've heard about people who want to run Crysis at the higher settings talking about quad core CPU's and dual 8800's. Holy cow, if the rest of the system is built to match that a $4K PC! Then the software manufacturers complain the market is shrinking, duh.

That is the one thing I really like about consoles. Consoles are fairly affordable and if the hardware doesn't self-destruct you only need to add peripherals (possibly) and it's good for a few years. Plus it doesn't take up a ton of room and it can run fine on a television. All keeps the cost down.

Of course I'm a "casual gamer". I'd expect hard core gamers to totally disagree.

I've played a large number of the MMOs out there, but have been sticking with RTS games for the PC lately. I finally gave in and bought a copy of D&D: Dragonshard a week or so ago and had a good time with that. I'm a big fan of history, the military, baseball, football, boxing and fantasy so those are the type of games I'm drawn to. I spend a fair amount of time playing NCAA Football 2008 right now and I'm looking forward to Age of Conan and The Force Unleashed later this year.

If you hit L1 and R1 at the same time during a collision you enter 'Showtime' mode which lets you get mega points like the crash mode in the previous instalments. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Found that by accident! (Hey a pun!)

Fuck me! I gotta go try that out. I registered the game to get my "cheat code" and all they gave me was this: "Rolling, Rolling, Rolling... The best way to do a double barrel roll? Jump in the Ikusa GT and fly off the big jump on South Mountain Drive." How fucking lame is that?

Now thats what you call a T.V.! What size is that? Just bought a 42", 120hz JVC to play the PS3 on and its ideal for Burnout as the game is so bloody fast.

Think thats the first jump I did and probably the easiest to find.....not much of a cheat code methinks. Burnout is pure Car Porn!

Just played until the batteries in the controller needed recharging, love the showtime feature. Better still, the reason I got the game was cuz wifey loved the original one on our friends Xbox, she likes this one okay but will really enjoy the crashes now. Fun as hell game, but I doubt I'll ever memorize the damn map and that seems to be the only way to really do well in this game.

I have a PS2 and GC that are barely touched anymore. I mostly play PC games now: WoW and Half-Life2, though I do have the rest of the Orange Box installed as well.

I agree, Crimson. I was totally obsessed with Guitar Hero III, I had to play it sitting down, though, because I have the tendancy to get into it too much, and forget that I am supposed to be pushing the correct buttons instead of just "air guitaring" it. Right now I am waiting impatiently on the new Star Wars game "The Force Unleashed" where you get to be Vader's secret apprentice.

Oh, before I forget, it's the Xbox 360 for me
